How I Organize My Life

February 17, 2017 , In: Lifestyle , With: 4 Comments

So seeing as I recently started back at school, I now have so many things to keep track of, between keeping up with my blog posts, social events, and school assignments, it can be a lot sometimes.  So I just wanted to show you guys how I like to stay organized with everything.

So first for all things relating to my blog, I bought this Discbound Notebook from Staples.  There are so many things that I love about these journals, mostly that they are completely customizable, which I found very necessary when it came to organizing all the different aspects of my  blog.  I also love the fact that because they are disc bound, all of the pages can come out of the notebook and inserted back in anywhere.  This is really helpful to me when it comes to organizing all of my thoughts, because I can easily rearrange the pages, in an order that makes more sense, or that is more helpful to me, and I don’t have to tear pages out or start all over again.

So this notebook comes in two different sizes and colors.  I have the smaller size in gray.  I decided to go with the smaller size just so I would be able to throw it into my purse and travel with it easily if I wanted, but the bigger size would be great for school work, or any project where you are going to be taking a lot of notes or doing a lot of writing.   But since, I don’t do that much writing in mine, the smaller size was perfect for me.

This range of notebooks comes with many different inserts that you can get to further customize your journal, I bought a set of 5 tab dividers, so that I could organize it exactly how I wanted.  I have the set of 5 tab dividers, and what is so cool about these is that you can write on them with ball point pen or pencil, and it’s erasable. This was so exciting to me, just because I am constantly changing how I like to organize things, so if in a few months I decide I want to change the layout of my notebook, I don’t have to go buy new dividers or a new notebook, I can so easily just change the existing ones.

So I have the five tabs organized into schedule, posted, analytics, goals/ideas, and other.  In the first tab, I write down my schedule for all of my future blog posts, then when I have posted all of the posts on one page, I take that page out and move it to the second tab, which is the posted category.  I like to keep all of my old schedules, just so that I can look at it and easily keep track of the posts I’ve already done.  Then my next tab is analytics, this is where I keep track of my analytics for my blog.  I will admit, that I don’t really do a great job of this, but I am trying to get better at actually reading, understanding, and keeping track of my analytics, so I can continue to improve my blog!

My next tab is where I write down all of my goals and ideas for not only specific posts, but my blog in general.  In this section, I have 5 seperate pages for my blog ideas, one for posts that can be done anytime of year, and then one for blog posts for each season of the year.  I have these pages, all year round, just because I never know when inspiration will strike, and if I get a great idea for a Christmas post in July, I will most likely forget it by December if I don’t write it down. This is also really useful because I am collecting ideas all year round, so if I ever feel stuck or get writer’s block, I’ll have some ideas to fall back on.  And then lastly, I have a tab for any other random stuff I want to keep track of for my blog.

I also keep a daily planner, where I write about school and social events.  I got this one from Urban Outfitters, and I really like the simple marble cover, and the inside pages are set up really nicely for keeping track of my day to day activities.   Each page has a blank template, so you can fill it in pretty much however you want.  I just write the date at the top, and then usually the day of the week next to it.  Then I will write any important reminders for myself, a to-do list, as well as list out my hourly schedule for the day.

I typically fill this out at the beginning of each week, and update it as I go throughout the week.  Having this planner really helps me stay organized, just being able to write things down so I won’t forget them is such a huge help., and I really like the way this one is laid out, because it allows me to fill it in exactly how I want!

So that is how I organize my life! I hope you guys enjoyed a little peek into how I keep track of my blog, school work, and social events.

How do you guys like to stay organized and plan your life?

I love how organized and compartmentalized everything is! I always start various lists on one of the bagillion notepads I have but perhaps getting a dedicated diary would be better. Thanks for all the tips 🙂

I always used to do that too, I was always so scattered, but it helps so much to have everything in one place!

I just love stationary and these notepads are so cute! I’ve been tempted to start bullet journalling but keep putting it off! xx

I love bullet journals, I think they look so cool, unfortunately I’m not that artistic, so I just stick to my daily planners! 🙂
